    Introduction

The Thule Air Force base in Northern Greenland has been under the jurisdiction of the US Air Force 821st Air Base Group since the end of World War and the Cold War.

It  constitutes the US’s  northernmost military facility (76°32′N, 68°50′W).

The military base lies approximately 1118 km north of the Arctic Circle and 1524 km south of the  Terrestrial North Pole. The Thule base is 885 km east of the North Magnetic Pole.

The Thule US Air Force base (which was renamed in 2026) also “hosts the 12th Space Warning Squadron, a Ballistic Missile Early Warning Site designed to detect and track Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs) launched against North America.”

The Thule base links up to NORAD and US Northern Command headquarters at the Peterson Air Force base in Colorado. The Thule base is also “host to Detachment 3 of the 22d Space Operations Squadron, which is part of the 50th Space Wing‘s global satellite control network.”

In the course of the Cold War, the U.S. had numerous  military bases in Greenland in an agreement with Denmark

    Operation Arctic Endurance (January 2026)

Home Logo: U.S. Northern CommandA Small numbers of European soldiers and military personnel have so far been dispatched to Greenland by several EU/NATO member states including France, the U.K, the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Norway. Allegedly this action is in response to President Trump’s threats directed against the kingdom of Denmark.

NATO’s Operation Arctic Endurance initiative is described as a multinational operation under NATO command.

Contradiction:  this operation cannot under any circumstances be carried out by NATO in Brussels without the active participation and consent of the Pentagon.

A North American Aerospace Defense Command F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter aircraft from the South Carolina ANG’s 169th FW lands at Pituffik Space Force Base, Greenland, Oct. 7, 2025. Operating in the Arctic provides the flexibility and adaptability needed to overcome logistical hurdles in a dynamic and unforgiving environment. Greenland as part of the Kingdom of Denmark has long played an important role in the defense of North America, which strengthens NORAD's ability to protect the continent from today’s threats and emerging challenges from all approaches. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Maxim Dewolf)The Multinational Operation is slated to confront the 200 military personnel (largely involved in the US Navy and Air Force at the Thune basis renamed Pituffik Space Base in Greenland which is an entity of US Northern Command based in Colorado, which in turn reports to the Pentagon.

    It’s a military Farce? A propaganda ploy?

The multinational force is coordinated by the Pentagon against the Pentagon.

They are pulling the strings on both sides.

The number of soldiers and military personnel deployed under the multinational operation is trivial when compared to the U.S. deployment of  the US Navy, Air Force and ground forces in the Arctic.

Italy says it is a bad joke, a farce.

Is there an unspoken agenda which consists in confronting the legitimacy of President Donald Trump threats directed against his allies?

These EU/NATO troops are not there to fight.

GRTV Video: Freezing “Cold War” in the Arctic. Trump Wants Greenland

    Michel Chossudovsky. and Drago Bosnic

The NATO-Pentagon command structure would not allow for these troops to fight against US troops. Visibly this deployment is not intended to confront US forces in the Arctic. It is nonetheless significant from a geopolitical standpoint. It questions the legitimacy of the Donald Trump’s threats directed against the kingdom of Denmark, which is a member of NATO.

US President Donald Trump has said he no longer feels obliged to think only of peace after he was not awarded the Nobel Peace Prize last year. In a message to Norway’s Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, Trump blamed the country for not giving him the prize…

Trump also insisted the US needed “Complete and Total Control of Greenland” – the semi autonomous Danish territory. Asked later if he planned to use force to seize it, he replied “no comment”. BBC

The broader question is whether what appears to be a token military deployment under “Operation Arctic Endurance” will play a role into undermining Washington’s shaky alliance with the EU. Will it contribute to weakening or breaking up of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization?

Trump has reacted by imposing a 10% tariff on the NATO member states which participated in Operation Artic endurance.

Inasmuch as NATO actions are coordinated by the Pentagon, it is unlikely that Operation Arctic Endurance would lead to military confrontation.

Military Conflict Within and Between NATO Member States

Article 5 of the Washington Treaty, namely NATO’s collective security agreement does not apply to a conflict within NATO, namely the stated intent of  President Trump to wage war against Greenland, an independent territory, which belongs to Denmark

    “We Are No Longer Friends”

The deployment of troops in Greenland by several European countries coupled with the tariff penalty has affected Trump’s personal relations with European heads of state and heads of government including U.K. Prime Minster Starmer, President Emmanuel Macron, EU’s Ursula von der Leyen, not to mention Italy’s Prime Minister.

    The Destabilzation of NATO

It could potentially lead to the destabilization of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

It could result in  a parliamentary vote in one or more NATO member states pertaining to the issue of withdrawal from The North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

Already, disarray prevails between MAGA Trump and several prominent European politicians. “We are no longer friends”. Personal relations between Trump and European politicians could lead to major geopolitical shifts

Withdrawal from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization

    Map of NATO members countries

There is a (somewhat contradictory) clause within the North Atlantic Treaty  (Article 13) which enables withdrawal from NATO. This clause has to be examined and a strategy must be envisaged.

The request of a NATO Member State to withdraw from the Treaty rests with the Government of the United States of America. What are the legal implications of this clause?

Article 13. What is the Procedure to Exit NATO.

    NATO Article 13 (see above).
Superficially it sounds straightforward. In reality it entails various political and geopolitical obstacles:
“Article 13 outlines the formal process for a member country to withdraw from the North Atlantic Treaty, requiring a written notice of denunciation to the U.S. (the depositary government) and a subsequent one-year waiting period before the withdrawal becomes effective”

NATO is a criminal entity. There is no Alliance. There never was an alliance.

NATO is an appendage of the Pentagon.

In the wake of World War II, the U.S. established military bases in a large number of Western European countries.

There was never a Liberation of Italy. There was occupation.

This was an act of colonization. With US military bases in your country, you do not control your politics.

Video. NATO EXIT. “No Guerra No NATO”

We met in Florence on the 7th of April 2019, coinciding with the 70th anniversary of the founding of NATO.

The theme of our conference  was NATO EXIT.

The event was organized by Italy’s Comitato No Guerra, No NATO, in collaboration with the Centre for Research on Globalization (CRG).

The Florence Declaration was drafted by Italy’s Comitato and the CRG.

On April 25, 2020, Commemorating the Liberation of Italy. We express our solidarity with the people of Italy. At the same time we express our concern regarding the US military bases established in Italy immediately established after World WarII.

We must reflect on our history. Was it a Liberation or an Occupation?

The European Union is militarized. The Pentagon is actively involved under the banner of NATO in both Western and Eastern Europe.

Italy like many other countries is currently experiencing a major crisis.

This year on the 25th of April which commemorates Italy’s Liberation, we are not able to meet in Firenze to debate and discuss the “coronavirus crisis” which is affecting millions of people Worldwide.

The risk of a vast war which, with the use of nuclear weapons, could mean the end of Humanity, is real and growing, even though it is not noticed by the general public, which is maintained in the ignorance of this imminent danger.

A strong engagement to find a way out of the war system is of vital importance. This raises the question of the affiliation of Italy and other European countries with NATO.

NATO is not an Alliance. It is an organisation under the command of the Pentagon, and its objective is the military control of Western and Eastern Europe.

US bases in the member countries of NATO serve to occupy these countries, by maintaining a permanent military presence which enables Washington to influence and control their policies and prevent genuine democratic choices.

NATO is a war machine which works for the interests of the United States, with the complicity of the major European power groups, staining itself with crimes against humanity.

The war of aggression waged by NATO in 1999 against Yugoslavia paved the way for the globalization of military interventions, with wars against Afghanistan, Libya, Syria and other countries, in complete violation of international law.

These wars are financed by the member countries, whose military budgets are increasing continually to the detriment of social expenditure, in order to support colossal military programmes like that of the US nuclear programme which costs 1,200 billion dollars.

In violation of the Non-Proliferation Treaty, the USA is deploying nuclear weapons in five non-nuclear NATO States, under the false pretext of the ”Russian menace”. By doing so, they are risking the security of Europe.

To exit the war system which is causing more and more damage and exposing us to increasing dangers, we must leave NATO, affirming our rights as sovereign and neutral States.

In this way, it becomes possible to contribute to the dismantling of NATO and all other military alliances, to the reconfiguration of the structures of the whole European region, to the formation of a multipolar world where the aspirations of the People for liberty and social justice may be realised.

We propose the creation of a NATO EXIT International Front in all NATO member countries , by building an organisational network at a basic level strong enough to support the very difficult struggle we must face in order to attain this objective, which is vital for our future.

    Introductory Note

Article 5 of the Washington Treaty was declared to justify waging war against Afghanistan under the doctrine of collective security: coming to the rescue of the United States of America on September 11, 2001,

America was allegedly under attack on the orders of the Afghan government.

“an armed attack against one member is considered an attack against all members”

The 9/11 attack was NOT an act of war. It was a deliberate terrorist act.

There was no evidence that Afghanistan had attacked America. Nor was there evidence that the Afghan government was supportive of the alleged Al Qaeda terrorists. Quite the opposite.

NATO is a criminal military entity in blatant derogation of the Laws of Armed Conflict (LOAC).

Forget Article 5, endorse Article 13.

Article 13 of the Washington Treaty describes a simple procedure for a NATO member state, to cancel its membership.

Below is the stated objective of NATO: Peace and Security, Individual Liberty and the Rule of Law, Safeguard Freedom and  Democracy.

    See below:

“The Parties to this Treaty reaffirm their faith in the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations and their desire to live in peace with all peoples and all governments.

They are determined to safeguard the freedom, common heritage and civilisation of their peoples, founded on the principles of democracy, individual liberty and the rule of law. They seek to promote stability and well-being in the North Atlantic area.

They are resolved to unite their efforts for collective defence and for the preservation of peace and securityThey therefore agree to this North Atlantic Treaty.”

Sounds good but it’s a bold face lie.

NATO is an instrument  of  continuous warfare.  What utter nonsense. They do not support the Charter of the United Nations.

    image: (Afghanistan, famine)

US-NATO-Israel’s “humanitarian wars” consist of crimes against humanity, genocide and the destruction and fragmentation of entire countries:

Palestine, Vietnam, Cambodia, Somalia, Sudan, Afghanistan, Yugoslavia, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Ukraine, …

not to mention military coup’s, regime change, color revolutions, … poverty and famine.

Famine in Afghanistan (invaded by NATO forces in October 2001) on the pretext that Afghanistan had attacked America on 9/11 allegedly in support of Al Qaeda.

Read Article 13 of the Washington Treaty which describes the procedure.

    “Article 13

“After the Treaty has been in force for twenty years, any Party may cease to be a Party one year after its notice of denunciation has been given to the Government of the United States of America, which will inform the Governments of the other Parties of the deposit of each notice of denunciation.

A NATO Member State may cease to be “A Party of NATO ” one year after its notice of denunciation has been given the the Government of the U.S.A” (emphasis added)

A  NATO member state may decide to “WITHDRAW from NATO.”

We are at a dangerous crossroads in our history which is characterized by a system of alliances of nation-states (namely NATO) which unequivocally supports and finances the United States military agenda. The latter also includes an option to conduct nuclear war. A 1.3 trillion dollar nuclear weapons program, slated to increase to 2 trillion by 2030.

While Article 13 of the Washington Treaty appears to be simplistic, one can expect numerous pressures and fraudulent actions with a view to preventing a NATO member state from canceling its NATO membership.

What is crucial is to fracture and weaken NATO: an intergovernmental alliance of 32 member states.

There is also the issue of cross-cutting alliances and coalitions, namely countries which are members of NATO, while also having alliances or agreements with so-called enemies of NATO.  Turkey is a NATO member state which has economic and strategic alliances with both Russia and Iran.

The withdrawal from NATO of one or more member states could have a significant impact. It creates a precedent, which would encourage more NATO member states, “to say goodbye.”

How to Reverse the Tide of War: “Say Goodbye to Nato”

    A. Withdrawal (Art 13 of the North Atlantic Treaty)

    1. A mass movement at the grassroots of society to withdraw from NATO (Art. 13 of the North Atlantic Treaty)

    2. Actions within the legislature of the 32 member states. Motions “to cease to be a party” of NATO (Art 13)

    B. NATO Wants Money From Member States. It Also Wants Weapons

“During the 2014 summit, all NATO members agreed to spend at least 2% of their GDPs on defense by 2025″.

Pressure governments to freeze defense spending. Demand withdrawal of soldiers from the war theater.

    C. The Restoration of Peace and Democracy

    3. Persistent actions against corrupt heads of state who support NATO.

    4. Restoration of the democratic process, elect politicians firmly committed to “CEASING TO BE A PARTY” OF NATO (ART 13)

    D. Democratization of the Media

    5. Actions against media, which are supportive of terrorism and crimes against humanity committed by  NATO forces.

    E. Actions Within the United Nations System

    6. Meaningful actions within the United Nations System.

    7. Actions against NGOs which support NATO.

    F. Legal Actions

    8. Legal actions against the military industrial complex and the financial establishment

    9. Actions against the billionaire philanthropists which endorse and finance US NATO Israel, acts of war

10  Actions against NATO member governments which commit war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide

The Motto of NATO: Increase defense spending to prevent war. NATO must spend more.”

Around the Napoleonic era, Prussian (German) general and military theorist Carl von Clausewitz wrote a book called “On War”. One of his most compelling arguments was the postulate that “war is a mere continuation of policy by other means”. In essence, war is not some sudden, isolated event that just happens randomly, but rather an instrument of political goals that are pursued when diplomatic solutions are no longer viable or wanted by either side.

Clausewitz’s argument emphasizes that war is fundamentally a deliberate political act with a carefully calculated purpose, rather than a purely emotional or violent undertaking. The latter two are merely used for mass manipulation that serves to convince the populace that the war is “just”.

Although written over two centuries ago, such a timeless argument perfectly encapsulates how warfare functions (and has functioned since the dawn of mankind).

This is particularly true for the political West and its centuries-old aggression against the entire world. Since the dawn of the classical colonial era to the modern (or perhaps even postmodern) neocolonial system, the world’s most vile power pole has killed, maimed and enslaved billions of people at virtually every corner of this unfortunate planet. Entire native populations (particularly in the Americas and Australia) have either been wiped out entirely or brought to the point of extinction, robbing the world of their unique societies and civilizations.

    .

Carl Von Clausewitz Quote: War Is Not An Independent, 47% OFF

    .

It was from this brutal colonialism that countries like the British Empire and the United States emerged, bringing more misery, death and destruction to other “undiscovered” regions of the world, particularly in Africa and Asia, where genocidal Western policies continued with the same ferocity. Clausewitz’s point that warfare is a very deliberate act has been proven time and again, with one caveat being that the political West has become increasingly sophisticated at causing wars and making them seem like they’re unrelated to Western aggression against the world. Whenever any given opponent is too strong for a head-on engagement, the political West resorts to “low blows” and strategic sabotage in an attempt to gain the upper hand.

This has been particularly true for Russia and China, the two global superpowers that Western colonialists were always terrified of fighting directly.

That’s precisely the reason unrest, revolutions and local wars were used against both, starting at least in the early 19th century and continuing to this day (Opium Wars, Crimean War, revolutions in Russia and China financed by Western capital, neocolonial wars and attempts to dismember both countries, etc). Although both Moscow and Beijing refused to give up and kept fighting, the damage done to their societies is virtually impossible to quantify. China lost well over a century from the early 19th to the late 20th century and is yet to fully regain its rightful place in the global arena.

Russia also lost more than a century after its victory in WWI was stolen, pushing it into at least half a decade of civil war, followed by WWII not even 20 years later. The guns were still hot in Europe and the Pacific when the US and the crumbling British Empire conceived “Operation Unthinkable” and dozens of similar plans that involved dropping at least 300 nuclear bombs on Moscow alone. Russia uncovered the plot and pre-empted it by developing its own atomic weapons, forever stifling Western wet dreams about “imposing the will of Anglo-Americans” on the Kremlin through the use of nuclear hellfire. However, these monstrous plans were never really dropped, but merely postponed and left for “better times”.

The political West seems to think those times have come and that the Eurasian giant is greatly weakened due to the unfortunate dismantling of the Soviet Union. NATO’s crawling “Barbarossa 2.0” is strategically almost identical to the original launched by its geopolitical (and literal) Nazi predecessor, albeit conducted through far more sinister and truly Machiavellian policies. However, the endgame is precisely how Clausewitz described it – the continuation of the same policies by different means. Still, while the political West’s cold-blooded calculus is meticulously executed, it’s also fundamentally dominated by one of the most dangerous delusions in human history – that Russia can be defeated.

Namely, Italian Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, chair of NATO’s Military Committee, just told Financial Times that NATO is considering “more proactive measures in response to Russia’s escalating hybrid warfare”. He cited an alleged “rise in Russian-backed cyberattacks, sabotage operations and airspace violations over Europe – which NATO could mirror and more, as any potential ‘pre-emptive strike’ on Russian targets would be justified”. In order to justify this “pre-emptive strike”, Admiral Dragone insisted that such an attack could “under certain circumstances and context be classified as a defensive action”. He also added a laughable claim that this would be “further away from our normal way of thinking and behavior”.

    undefined

The very idea that unadulterated, bloodthirsty belligerence is somehow “out of the ordinary” for the most murderous racketeering cartel in human history makes any normal human being lose their breath and convulse due to excessive laughter. Namely, for anyone who hasn’t been living under a rock for the past three to four decades, how many NATO wars can you count off the top of your head alone? Without even considering previous wars and starting only with the post-Cold War era and the direct aggression on Iraq (twice), Serbia/Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Ukraine, now Venezuela, etc, there have been dozens of official invasions and unofficial NATO-orchestrated “civil” wars that resulted in millions of civilian deaths.

Obviously, not a single NATO official or military officer was ever held accountable for the sea of blood left in their wake. All they ever talk about are “mistakes”, but no “international criminal court” has ever found these admissions peculiar enough to warrant the attention of “international law and justice”. Quite the contrary, the political West (ab)used the so-called “rules-based world order” to the maximum in order to justify NATO’s destruction of the said countries and even presented all of it as some sort of a “noble humanitarian mission”. The world’s most aggressive racketeering cartel is now dead set on pushing the narrative that yet another “just cause” is there, only this time once again against Russia (for God knows which time in the last 800 years).

Moscow’s “evil oppression of poor little NATO” is the ultimate bait for Western audiences in what Washington DC, London and Brussels apparently see as their “last chance to defeat Russia.”

Obviously, they never listened to the advice of their late Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery, whose rule 1, on page 1 of the book of war, was“Do not march on Moscow.” It’s extremely difficult to imagine that people like Admiral Dragone never heard of this advice (effectively a command). However, it seems their arrogance makes them think they know better than one of the people who fought an actual war and defeated Nazi armies in North Africa and Western Europe.

He knew full well that those forces were still only a fraction of German power, which was heavily focused on Russia.

  • Western Faces of Fascism

    Western Faces of Fascism

The deeply entrenched fascism of the collective West, the merger of the corporate and the state, is mostly disguised but shockingly palpable in its proxies.

Investigative journalist Abby Martin describes Israeli fascism with these words:

“I hate when I see politicians just trying to denounce Netanyahu as some sort of aberration from Israeli society. No, this is the norm.
This is the norm. Look at every single cabinet minister, every single member of the Knesset is out there spewing genocide, advocating mass murder of not just Palestinians, but babies, babies. It is sick.”

Transcript here: Western-Supported Zionist Fascism/ By Abby Martin – Mark Taliano

The current Western-supported Zionist holocaust of Palestinians is the distilled essence of Western fascism, Western settler-colonialism, genocide.

And what are some of the real goals behind the Western-supported genocide?

“The ultimate objective,” explains Prof. Michel Chossudovsky, “is not only to exclude Palestinians from their homeland, it consists in confiscating the multi-billion dollar Gaza offshore Natural Gas reserves, namely those pertaining to the BG (BG Group) in 1999as well the Levant discoveries of 2013.” (1)

Western/Zionist proxies in Syria and beyond (al Qaeda, ISIS and affiliates) serve the same fascist agenda. Investigative reporter Vanessa Beeley explains,

“many in the US are not aware that US forces occupy one third of Syrian territory illegally. The justification of being in Syria to fight ISIS is dishonest. In 2016, in a closed UN session with Obama’s Secretary of State, John Kerry and Syrian so-called opposition that was recorded and published by the NYT – this recording confirmed three things:

1:  Obama policy in Syria was the removal of the Syrian government and President Bashar Al Assad

2:  In order to accomplish this primary goal, the White House was willing to watch the rise of ISIS in the hope that ISIS would advance on Damascus and pressure President Assad into stepping down

Beneath the veils of war propaganda,  Dana Stroul – Joe Biden’s Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense – then co-chair of the Syria Study Group – “nomalizes” Empire’s illegal occupations and theft of Syrian resources, even claiming that Washington and is proxies “own” one third of Syian territory.

Illegal occupations, support for internationally-proscribed terrorist groups, unilateral coercive economic measures (collective punishment) amount to bald-faced imperialism, which amounts to fascism, given the barbaric  nature of Empire’s sectarian proxies.

And what are some of the underlying motivations?  Empire seeks to weaken, to subjugate and to balkanize, to impose “Regime Change”, to open up new territories for corporate exploitation, to plunder resources, and to further project its power in the so-called New Middle East.  All of this is in contravention of international law and all of it is consistent with fascism laid bare.

Empire disguises its West Asian fascism as ‘humanitarian” even as the death toll in its concurrent wars of aggression amounts to millions of souls. (3)

    What about Ukraine?

Here, the fascism presents as literal nazism and genocidal ethnic nationalism, (4) both fostered since the end of World War Two by Western intelligence agencies. These are the Western-supported extremist elements that spearheaded the violent coup against the elected Yanukovych government and instated a Washington-supported nazi-controlled regime that would soon after bomb and kill and genocide its own people in the East of the country.

When the war ends, and the likely outcome of Ukraine’s military defeat materializes, Western corporations will still profit.  The International Monetary Fund (IMF), Cargill, Monsanto, and Blackrock will all profit from Ukraine’s misery and the mass-slaughter of its youth. (5) Russia was the fabricated enemy, but never the real enemy.

Elections and democratic posturing are all disguises that conceal the collective West’s deadly fascism and its globalized permanent war agenda, which destroys one country after another, in lockstep, for the narrow benefit of international financial interests — including armament manufacturers,  but to the detriment of humanity.

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard to Syria Times: U.S. government has strengthened al-Qaeda and other terrorist organizations/ Interview by Basma Qaddour

    October 2017.

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard has underscored that the U.S. government has been violating law for years by quietly supporting allies and partners of al-Qaeda, ISIL and other terrorist groups with money, weapons, and intelligence support to overthrow the Syrian government.

Commenting on a question sent to her by the Syriatimes e-newspaper’s reporter- by e-mail-  about US intervention in Syria, the American politician said: “Under U.S. law it is illegal for any American to provide money or assistance to al-Qaeda, ISIS or other terrorist groups. If you or I gave money, weapons or support to al-Qaeda or ISIS, we would be thrown in jail.”

“ Yet the U.S. government has been violating this law for years, by quietly supporting allies and partners of al-Qaeda, ISIL, and other terrorist groups with money, weapons, and intelligence support, in their fight to overthrow the Syrian government,” she added, indicating that the U.S. government has strengthened al-Qaeda and other terrorist organizations.

“The U.S. government has also been providing weapons and money to Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar and others who provide direct and indirect support to groups like ISIS and al-Qaeda in places like Syria and Yemen. This support has strengthened al-Qaeda and other terrorist organizations,” Hawaii Democratic Representative stressed.

She pointed out that the U.S. resources are being used to strengthen the very terrorist groups. “We should alarm every American. The counterproductive regime change war in Syria, and our support for Saudi Arabia’s war in Yemen, has caused great human suffering, created millions of refugees, caused tremendous loss of life, and has strengthened our enemies.”

    Stop Arming Terrorists Act

The congresswoman underlined the need to end the U.S. government’s madness, indicating that she has introduced the stop arming terrorists act that prohibits any federal agency from using taxpayer dollars to support terrorist groups .

“We must stop arming terrorists. That’s why I introduced the Stop Arming Terrorists Act—legislation that would prohibit any Federal agency from using taxpayer dollars to provide weapons, cash, intelligence, or any support to al-Qaeda, ISIS and other terrorist groups, as well as prohibiting the government from providing weapons and money to other countries who are directly or indirectly supporting terrorists,” the member of U.S. congress concluded.

  • The West and its Assault on Christianity

The West and its Assault on Christianity

Western politicians, the same ones who support and applaud apartheid Israel’s genocide of Palestinians, would have us believe that they support democracy and freedom and humanitarianism as foreign policy goals.

These same AIPAC-funded politicians would also have us believe that they support religious and ethnic pluralism as foreign policy goals.

Now more than ever their duplicity is being revealed as the war propaganda that it is.

As the West revels in its mockery of  Christ’s Last Supper, Western-supported Israel has been slaughtering Christians in Palestine who seek shelter from the genocide in the supposed safety of churches.

Slaughters such as these are consistent with Western foreign policy. The West, (including Israel), with its overt and covert support for internationally-proscribed extremist terrorist groups, including ISIS and al Qaeda,  is responsible for sectarian extremism in Syria and beyond, and the concurrent purge of christians from the “New Middle East” (1). Empire deploys these proxies to destroy prey countries and their peoples, and to advance imperial “hegemony”.

Interestingly, as noted by professor, author and human rights lawyer Dan Kovalik,(2) it is Hezbollah which helped the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) liberate Maaloula, where the language of Christ is still spoken, from the Western-supported sectarian terrorist groups.

Importantly, Eastern Orthodox Christianity is also being persecuted and expunged from modern-day Ukraine since Washington installed a nazi-dominated coup government in 2014. (3)

The established, and very catastrophic pattern, is that beneath the war propaganda and vacuous political statements, the West and its agencies support and control all manner of extremism, including so-called “Islamist”, and Zionist, and nazi/genocidal ethnic nationalist. All of them anti-democratic, anti-human rights, anti-pluralism… and anti-Christian.

The Olympic opening ceremonies that mocked The Last Supper are consistent with these genocidal values.

Exhibit 1: Friday, March 22, 2024. It’s War. The Kremlin, via Peskov, finally admits it, on the record.

    The money quote:

“Russia cannot allow the existence on its borders of a state that has a documented intention to use any methods to take Crimea away from it, not to mention the territory of new regions.”

Translation: the Hegemon-constructed Kiev mongrel is doomed, one way or another. The Kremlin signal: “We haven’t even started” starts now.

Exhibit 2: Friday afternoon, a few hours after Peskov. Confirmed by a serious European – not Russian – source. The first counter-signal.

Regular troops from France, Germany and Poland have arrived, by rail and air, to Cherkassy, south of Kiev. A substantial force. No numbers leaked. They are being housed in schools. For all practical purposes, this is a NATO force.

That signals, “Let the games begin”. From a Russian point of view, Mr. Khinzal’s business cards are set to be in great demand.

Exhibit 3: Friday evening. Terror attack on Crocus City, a music venue northwest of Moscow. A heavily trained commando shoots people on sight, point blank, in cold blood, then sets a concert hall on fire. The definitive counter-signal: with the battlefield collapsing, all that’s left is terrorism in Moscow.

And just as terror was striking Moscow, the US and the UK, in southwest Asia, was bombing Sana’a, the Yemeni capital, with at least five strikes.

Some nifty coordination. Yemen has just clinched a strategic deal in Oman with Russia-China for no-hassle navigation in the Red Sea, and is among the top candidates for BRICS+ expansion at the summit in Kazan next October.

Not only the Houthis are spectacularly defeating thalassocracy, they have the Russia-China strategic partnership on their side. Assuring China and Russia that their ships can sail through the Bab-al-Mandeb, Red Sea and Gulf of Aden with no problems is exchanged with total political support from Beijing and Moscow.

    The sponsors remain the same

Deep in the night in Moscow, before dawn on Saturday 23. Virtually no one is sleeping. Rumors dance like dervishes on countless screens. Of course nothing has been confirmed – yet. Only the FSB will have answers. A massive investigation is in progress.

The timing of the Crocus massacre is quite intriguing. On a Friday during Ramadan. Real Muslims would not even think about perpetrating a mass murder of unarmed civilians under such a holy occasion. Compare it with the ISIS card being frantically branded by the usual suspects.

Let’s go pop. To quote Talking Heads: “This ain’t no party/ this ain’t no disco/ this ain’t no fooling around”. Oh no; it’s more like an all-American psy op. ISIS are cartoonish mercenaries/goons. Not real Muslims. And everyone knows who finances and weaponizes them.

That leads to the most possible scenario, before the FSB weighs in: ISIS goons imported from the Syria battleground – as it stands, probably Tajiks – trained by CIA and MI6, working on behalf of the Ukrainian SBU. Several witnesses at Crocus referred to “Wahhabis” – as in the commando killers did not look like Slavs.

It was up to Serbia’s Aleksandar Vucic to cut to the chase. He directly connected the “warnings” in early March from American and British embassies directed at their citizens not to visit public places in Moscow with CIA/MI6 intel having inside info about possible terrorism, and not disclosing it to Moscow.

The plot thickens when it is established that Crocus is owned by the Agalarovs: an Azeri-Russian billionaire family, very close friends of…

    … Donald Trump.

Talk about a Deep State-pinpointed target.

ISIS spin-off or banderistas – the sponsors remain the same. The clownish secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov, was dumb enough to virtually, indirectly confirm they did it, saying on Ukrainian TV, “we will give them [Russians] this kind of fun more often.”

But it was up to Sergei Goncharov, a veteran of the elite Russia Alpha anti-terrorism unit, to get closer to unwrapping the enigma: he told Sputnik the most feasible mastermind is Kyrylo Budanov – the chief of the Main Directorate of Intelligence at the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.

The “spy chief” who happens to be the top CIA asset in Kiev.

It’s got to go till the last Ukrainian

The three exhibits above complement what the head of NATO’s

military committee, Rob Bauer, previously told a security forum in Kiev: “You need more than just grenades – you need people to replace the dead and wounded. And this means mobilization.”

Translation: NATO spelling out this is a war until the last Ukrainian.

And the “leadership” in Kiev still does not get it. Former Minister of Infrastructure Omelyan: “If we win, we will pay back with Russian oil, gas, diamonds and fur. If we lose, there will be no talk of money – the West will think about how to survive.”

In parallel, puny “garden-and jungle” Borrell admitted that it would be “difficult” for the EU to find an extra 50 billion euros for Kiev if Washington pulls the plug. The cocaine-fueled sweaty sweatshirt leadership actually believes that Washington is not “helping” in the form of loans, but in the form of free gifts. And the same applies for the EU.

The Theater of the Absurd is unmatchable. The German Liver Sausage Chancellor actually believes that proceeds from stolen Russian assets “do not belong to anyone”, so they can be used to finance extra Kiev weaponizing.

Everyone with a brain knows that using interest from “frozen”, actually stolen Russian assets to weaponize Ukraine is a dead end – unless they steal all of Russia’s assets, roughly $200 billion, mostly parked in Belgium and Switzerland: that would tank the Euro for good, and the whole EU economy for that matter.

Eurocrats better listen to Russian Central Bank major “disrupter” (American terminology) Elvira Nabiullina: The Bank of Russia will take “appropriate measures” if the EU does anything on the “frozen”/stolen Russian assets.

It goes without saying that the three exhibits above completely nullify the “La Cage aux Folles” circus promoted by the puny Petit Roi, now known across his French domains as Macronapoleon.

Virtually the whole planet, including the English-speaking Global North, had already been mocking the “exploits” of his Can Can Moulin Rouge Army.

So French, German and Polish soldiers, as part of NATO, are already in the south of Kiev. The most possible scenario is that they will stay far, far away from the frontlines – although traceable by Mr. Khinzal’s business activities.

Even before this new NATO batch arriving in the south of Kiev, Poland – which happens to serve as prime transit corridor for Kiev’s troops – had confirmed that Western troops are already on the ground.

So this is not about mercenaries anymore. France, by the way, is only 7th in terms of mercenaries on the ground, largely trailing Poland, the US and Georgia, for instance. The Russian Ministry of Defense has all the precise records.

In a nutshell: now war has morphed from Donetsk, Avdeyevka and Belgorod to Moscow. Further on down the road, it may not just stop in Kiev. It may only stop in Lviv. Mr. 87%, enjoying massive national near-unanimity,  now has the mandate to go all the way. Especially after Crocus.

There’s every possibility the terror tactics by Kiev goons will finally drive Russia to return Ukraine to its original 17th century landlocked borders: Black Sea-deprived, and with Poland, Romania, and Hungary reclaiming their former territories.

Remaining Ukrainians will start to ask serious questions about what led them to fight – literally to their death – on behalf of the US Deep State, the military complex and BlackRock.

As it stands, the Highway to Hell meat grinder is bound to reach maximum velocity.

“The ‘American Century’ Is Over, and It Died in Syria” declared Hal Brands in Bloomberg View on March 8. Yes and thank God it is over. The house of truth fell on the American Century’s terrorist witch in Syria; Only its dangling scrawny legs are left to be seen – and the ruby slippers of reality that might help get America back on the road to maybe, someday, leading by example instead of Tomahawk missiles. It’s time for the witch to curl up and finish dying already so humanity everywhere can sing, “Ding dong the witch is dead” (from the 1938 classic, “The Wizard of Oz”)  and Syrians can get their country and some of their future back.

Everything but Brands’ conclusion is routine, absurd “American Centurion” lies and propaganda. His introduction is this: “The forces of democracy and the great moral gains of the New World Order have given way to great-power conflict and the new autocracy.”

Examining the “democracy and great moral gains” of the American Century, meaning US foreign policy post WWII, reveals a reality that is dark, aggressive, anti-democratic, immoral and ultimately against US interests as well as the interests of civilization itself. The American Century policies have made a mockery of democracy and morality; have stripped any vestige of honor from our military; have created the refugee crisis that may destabilize Europe; and have sucked our economy dry while spending trillions needlessly killing millions. All this while bowing down and selling hundreds of billions of dollars in weapons to the most autocratic, terrorist supporting regime on the planet, Saudi Arabia. The American Centurions refuse to take responsibility for any of it – instead continually blame others in order to justify more of the same failures.

All this has never been more apparent than in the illegal, dirty war against Syria.

The first paragraph alone is a study in misleading, false assertions. It begins:

For anyone who thought that the winding down of the campaign against the Islamic State would cause the Syrian civil war to recede from the headlines, the last few weeks have been a rude awakening.

A US campaign against the Islamic State never existed.

ISIS was incubated in America’s Camp Bucca prison system in Iraq. In 2012, General Michael Flynn, head of the Defense Intelligence Agency at the time, wrote a report for the Obama administration outlining the intelligence revealing the US backed insurgency in Syria as dominated by Wahhabi/Salafists, the Muslim Brotherhood, and Al Qaeda Iraq and that their intentions were to establish an intolerant, violent Islamist state in northeastern Syria. In an interview with Mehdi Hasan on Al Jazeera’s Head to Head, Flynn stated flatly that the administration made a “willful decision” to use those armed jihadist groups as assets in order to put pressure on President Assad.

The US coalition that began in September of 2014 did not concern itself with fighting ISIS after that terrorist group had moved onto Al Nusra’s territory (Al Qaeda in Syria), areas that were originally taken over by the equally sectarian mercenaries of the US formed Free Syrian Army. The coalition never fired on the massive ISIS oil convoys heading towards Turkey that provided the income stream required for the growth of ISIS for example.

In fact, a WikiLeaks released audio recording of John Kerry speaking to the western-backed Syrian ex-pat opposition at the Dutch Mission of the UN on September 22, 2016 (the political opposition that is not even supported by its “rebel” militias in Syria) spelling out precisely that Russia came in after Syria had invited them because the US was watching ISIS grow out of control in order to put pressure on Assad (and provide justification for later, increased illegal US activities in Syria):

The reason Russia came in is because ISIL was getting stronger. Daesh was threatening the possibility of going to Damascus at some point and that’s why Russia came in. Because they didn’t want a Daesh government and they supported Assad. And we knew that this was growing, we were watching. We saw that Daesh was growing in strength and we thought Assad was [indecipherable]. We thought however, that we could probably manage that Assad might then negotiate. Instead of negotiating, he got Putin to support him. John Kerry

While this damning confession by the head of the US State Department admitting that the US led coalition, marketed as an “international fight against ISIS” was in fact sitting illegally and idly in Syria watching ISIS grow and prosper received a tiny bit of coverage (in the New York Times, The Guardian and The Washington Times),  basically the western main stream media responded en masse with awkward silence, not worthy of mention apparently when there were so many more important stories like coverage of any given Kardashian’s backside.

Had the news media hammered this story like they do others, it would have been a game-changer. Instead of caving to the pressure, the shrewd Assad had appealed to Russia, whose votes with China on the UN Security Council had already stopped another Iraq War murderous farce from happening in Syria. Putin agreed, the Russians came in, hitting and basically ending the profitable ISIS oil convoys and supporting the Syrian Arab Army, the army of the legitimate government of the sovereign state of Syria, in its fight against ISIS, Al Qaeda and related terrorist groups.

In the meantime, ISIS continued receiving weapons from US and Saudi Arabia sponsored “rebel” groups as detailed in the 2017 Conflict Armament Research report. I was in Deir Ezzor in October of 2017 and saw one of the vast ISIS weapons arsenals captured by the Syrian Army and allies from Al Mayadeen including a 155mm Howitzer. The US led coalition had bombed strategic bridges on roads surrounding Deir Ezzor city to isolate it and impede advances by Syria and its allies to take on ISIS in Ar Raqqa. The blatant slaughter on September 17, 2016 by the US on the long-held Syrian Army position at Al Thardah killed over 100 Syrian soldiers who had been fighting against ISIS for years and the US apparently coordinated with ISIS fighters who immediately captured the strategic hill overlooking the airfield. More recently, the US, after indiscriminately bombing Ar Raqqa into near oblivion, arranged for the SDF, its latest mercenary army of mostly Kurdish separatists, to make deals with hundreds of ISIS fighters to escape Ar Raqqa and live to fight another day. There is some evidence that some of those terrorist fighters joined the SDF soon thereafter.

Obviously, the US strategy has never had anything to do with combatting its ISIS asset but has everything to do with using that pretext to establish its illegal military presence complete with military bases in Syria and taking control over the northeast section of the country that not coincidentally holds the richest oil fields.  In reality, the US did not liberate Raqqa and a huge swath of surrounding Syrian land – it stole it. The Syrian Army and its Russian, Iranian and Hezbollah allies did liberate three of the four ISIS caliphate command centers: Deir Ezzor, Al Mayadeen and Abu Kamal, as well as most ISIS-held villages in the area, in heavy, hard fighting often with terrible casualty rates. These victories, not the American/SDF blasting of Ar Raqqa, led to the victory over the terrorists’ caliphate in October and November and while there are still ISIS fighters and some militias operating, its backbone down the Euphrates is broken. The single greatest piece of evidence that the US mission was not to fight ISIS is the inescapable fact that the Americans are not only still there but intending to create a 30,000 strong mercenary army in the area they now illegally occupy. The 2018 budget allocates yet another $500 million to train and equip undesignated fighters with an estimated $400 million of that going to weapons alone. The Pentagon has estimated the cost of the US (illegal) occupation will be $4 billion this year.

The US forces are operating in Syria in total violation of both national and international law. The Authorized Use of Military Force does not apply when US official documents and officials’ statements clearly show that the US has been supporting various terrorist groups in Syria – not fighting them. Not only is the US presence unwelcomed by the legitimate government of Syria but also by the vast majority of the Syrian people of all family and faith groups, including most of the Sunni majority, who support their president and army against this US orchestrated regime change war using foreign-sponsored proxy militant armies.

The War in Syria was never a Civil War.

Brands’ labels the war against Syria as a civil war as government officials and western journalists have done for the past seven years but that’s never been the case.

“American Centurions” have had Syria in their sights to control since 1949 when the CIA attempted its first coup there. In 1956-57 numerous plots and assassinations were planned and tried.  In 1987 the CIA’s Foreign Subversion and Instability Center, Office of Global Issues wrote the declassified “Syria: Scenarios of Dramatic Political Change” which outlined hoped-for scenarios that would oust Hafez al-Assad. From 2004-2008, the CIA conducted military raids in eastern Syria, one of which resulted in eight Syrians killed whom the Syrian government claimed were civilians. Thousands of Damascenes took to the streets in a protest rally against the US attack.

The current war is an intensified extension of this same policy – a policy that has routinely violated the sovereignty of Syria while promoting destabilization. In 2003 in the London Review of Books, Charles Glass asked, Is Syria Next? He said:

For the men who came to rule the United States with the inauguration of George W. Bush, the Syrian menace was nothing new. Some of them had long wanted to wage war against Iraq as a way of containing Syria. ‘Israel can shape its strategic environment, in co-operation with Turkey and Jordan, by weakening, containing and even rolling back Syria,’ a Study Group on a New Israeli Strategy advised Benjamin Netanyahu when he assumed office in 1996. This group’s paper, ‘A Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm’, suggested that efforts should ‘focus on removing Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq – an important Israeli strategic objective in its own right – as a means of foiling Syria’s regional ambitions’.

In 2004, the US hit Syria with crippling sanctions. In 2005 President Bashar al-Assad and Hezbollah were accused of assassinating Rafic Harriri although the special UN tribunal created in 2007 to investigate the killing has only now, eleven years later, been able to declare it “an act of terrorism.” Yet Syria pulled its troops out of Lebanon. In the summer of 2005 Christiane Amanpour of CNN went to Damascus to interview President Assad and informed him bluntly that “regime change was headed his way” and that the US was “already picking out new leaders for Syria.” In 2006, Israel invaded Lebanon only to be routed in a humiliating defeat at the hands of Hezbollah with support from Syria. By the end of 2006 the Charge d’Affaires at the US Embassy in Damascus wrote a cable, “Influencing the SARG (Syrian Arab Republic Government) in the end of 2006” which stated that the SARG ended that year much stronger both domestically and internationally. Undeterred  by Assad’s popularity, the cable went on to describe more possible ways of undermining the government while promoting destabilization and fomenting sectarian distrust and rebellion among the Sunni majority. In 2007, President GW Bush and Eliot Abrams met with leaders of the Syrian ex-pat Muslim Brotherhood to enlist more help in undermining President Assad. From 2006-2010, the US spent millions on training “activists and journalists” to use to do the same. Also in 2007, General Wesley Clark revealed the neocons’ plan to “take out” Iraq, Libya, Lebanon, Syria, Somalia, Sudan and Iran immediately after 9/11. Qaddafi’s brutal death allowed the CIA and State Department to transfer weapons from Libya to waiting “rebels” in Syria; weapons that were stockpiled in Saudi sponsored radicalized mosques. The narrative of brutal crackdowns against protestors in Syria is a myth; Gary Gambill’s malignant but accurate on facts “Two Cheers for Syrian Islamists” in Foreign Policy from 2012 reveals the reality:

For starters, the Assad regime would not be in the trouble it’s in today were it not for the Islamists. Though the March 2011 uprising was initially broad-based, the Arab world’s most sophisticated internal security apparatus easily pacified protesters outside of heavily Sunni areas. But the mixture of faith and politics proved impossible to contain: Since banning Muslims from attending prayers was politically unthinkable, mosques became the focal points of massive anti-government demonstrations that quickly overwhelmed the regime’s capacity to clear the streets without bloodshed.

US Ambassador to Syria Robert Ford was pelted with vegetables by Damascenes, disgusted with his support of violent radical revolutionaries who wanted to establish a  harsh Sharia law state in place of the secular system and society. Father Frans van der Lugt described the attempts by the Syrian Army to keep the peace and prevent bloodshed in Homs in the earliest days of the war and stated, “The protesters shot first.” Father Frans was executed by Al Nusra shortly before the Syrian Army took back full control of Homs in 2014.

Syria fights against terrorists and propaganda.

Brands goes on to falsely summarize the current situation in Syria as one of increasing brutality by government forces against “rebels” in the eastern part of the Ghouta suburb outside Damascus. He fails to mention that he wouldn’t want any of these “rebels” living in his neighborhood. The groups controlling eastern Ghouta – Jaysh al Islam, Ahrar al Sham, Al Rahman, Tahrir al Sham, and Al Nusra – are all Islamist extremists that have been committing horrifying atrocities for seven years against the Syrian population. Massacres, beheadings, torture, kidnapping of thousands, looting in the areas they’ve “liberated” while imposing harsh sharia law through violence and intimidation on residents; also continual mortars, snipers, exploding bullets, suicide and car bombings in civilian areas in Damascus are the calling cards of these US and allies’ supported “freedom fighters”. In eastern Ghouta, Alawites and Christians have been driven out or executed and Sunnis standing against their autocratic terrorist rule shared that fate also. The basic character of the “rebels” has been known from the beginning of the conflict which is why such a small percentage of Syrians ever supported this US orchestrated regime change war using terrorist/mercenary/criminal proxy armies to do our dirty work. Gambill unabashedly summed up the US war mongers’ thinking in the 2012 FP article referred to above, “Two Cheers for Syrian Islamists” in which he notes how the “rebel” groups are all jihadists while blithely asserting, “Fortunately, while the Islamist surge will not be a picnic for the Syrian people, it has two important silver linings for U.S. interests.” Gambill went on to praise terrorists as being more effective fighters than secular counterparts with a talent for “shattering the calm” of civilians in Damascus and Aleppo; and he anticipated a Sunni Islamist surge inflicting a “full-blown strategic defeat on Iran.” Iran, a country that hasn’t invaded another one in about 200 years, that is zero actual threat to the US, that is in full compliance with the terms of the nuclear deal, and who helped defeat terrorists and saved Christians as well as Muslims in Syria is, according to American Centurions, the greatest threat to our personal freedoms.

The reports of chemical weapons use and supposed evidence of course come from these Islamist jihadists also yet their allegations are never questioned by most journalists. Neither are the possible motives behind the allegations. In fact, the Syrian government has been accused of using prohibited weapons whenever they are making great gains via conventional warfare and usually before international negotiations/peace talks, presumably against women and children just out of sheer spite against civilians in attacks that serve no purpose other than to give the radical militants more PR leverage and provide justification for even greater US involvement against Syria. Keep in mind, five and half years after the attack on the US compound in Benghazi, the US government claims we don’t really know what happened there; yet within hours of supposed chemical weapons attacks in areas completely controlled by terrorist groups, US officials immediately declare the culprit and cause. Hysterical hyperbole begins again with professed outrage for another “crime against humanity” and feigned sympathy for the victims while exhibiting convenient forgetfulness that the CIA helped Saddam Hussein launch some of the worst chemical weapons attacks in history against Iran and continues to use depleted uranium munitions.

Brands then refers to “aerial clashes” between Israeli, Iranian and Syrian forces. Israel has boasted of making over 100 illegal aerial attacks in Syria, most often illegally using Lebanese airspace to do them and for reconnaissance. Iranian forces are in Syria at the request of the Syrian government and have been effectively fighting ISIS and Al Qaeda there. Not so Israel. Their head of Military Intelligence, Major General Herzl Levi, stated in a public forum that Israel does not want ISIS defeated in Syria. Journalist Richard Silverstein reported on the apology ISIS made when they mistakenly fired on Israeli forces. In his “BREAKING: Former Israeli Defense Minister Confirms Israeli Collaboration with ISIS in Syria” article in Tikun Olam of April 23, 2017, Silverstein said,

Some critics claim that an ISIS apology doesn’t signify an alliance or serious collaboration between the Islamist group and Israel.  To which I reply–when you bomb an ally you apologize.  When you bomb an enemy–you don’t.  What does that make ISIS to Israel? Further, when was the last time an Islamist terror group apologized for firing bullets at Jews or Israelis?

In the same article, Silverstein reported on former Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon’s unapologetic statements in a video interview regarding Israel’s support for Al Qaeda affiliated terrorist groups in Syria. Israel’s intentions and actions show a clear policy as summarized by Alon Pinkas, former Israeli consul general in New York:

This is a playoff situation in which you need both teams to lose, but at least you don’t want one to win — we’ll settle for a tie. Let them both (the Syrian government and militant in addition to the Syrian people) bleed, hemorrhage to death: that’s the strategic thinking here. As long as this lingers, there’s no real threat from Syria. (Israel Backs Limited Strike Against Syria, NYT, September 5, 2013)

So Israel’s stance is this: hundreds of thousands dead?  Who cares? The threat of Syria being ruled by terrorists? No problem, as that would also mean greater justification for any future aggression against that state. They make deals and help Al Qaeda and ISIS in order to disrupt supply lines to Hezbollah so their long-held ambition to control Lebanon might be achieved. Oil was discovered in the Golan so along with its great water resources and strategic position, Israel covets finalizing their stealing of that land from Syria.

The first paragraph ends with a mention of the recent confrontation between “American airpower and Russian ‘mercenaries.’” In fact there were few Russians involved, if any. Christoph Reuter in Spiegal Online, “The Truth About the Russian Deaths in Syria” summarized the findings of a two-week long investigation into the incident interviewing witnesses and participants in the battle:

The situation on the ground between Khusham and Tabiya on the eastern bank of the Euphrates, described by a half dozen witnesses and people who were party to the events, does not confirm Russian mercenary participation in the attack or even that they joined the fighting at all.

But the greatest proofs of how far from reality Brands’ statements are would be the situations in Aleppo and Homs today, after their liberation from US and allies’ backed terrorist militias. Homs was freed from almost all groups in 2014 and Aleppo at the end of 2016. I’ve been in Homs four times and Aleppo twice in the past two years. In both cities, displaced persons have been returning; hundreds of thousands went back home to Aleppo just in 2017. Businesses and factories, schools, medical facilities, and homes are being rebuilt quickly. One friend of mine in Aleppo said it’s almost boring living there now without the mortars, suicide and car bombs, exploding bullets, chlorine gas attacks etc., that the west’s “moderate rebels” attacked the civilians with almost daily.

So after Brands introduces his topic with a blitzkrieg of inaccuracies in just the first paragraph, he finally says something in the second that is accurate, though not in the way he intends it.

Yes, the Syrian conflict remains “an appalling human catastrophe” for the reasons mentioned above – because the US decided to try to remove the popular President Assad when he refused to submit to Israel-favoring dictates, and to replace him with head chopping, torturing, raping, kidnapping, looting thugs who imposed harsh sharia law through violence and intimidation wherever they “liberated” in safe and secular Syria. One of the armed groups, who received direct US support with weapons, including sophisticated TOW anti-tank missiles, is Ahrar al Sham who lines the streets of their areas with billboards that read, “Democracy is polytheism.” Just about everyone in Syria wanted and still wants reforms in the government including President Assad; but only a tiny percentage of Syrians wanted a total take out of the government Iraq or Libya style. I’m often told Syrians are too afraid to criticize their government – another fable – they’re quite forceful in voicing frustration particularly regarding corruption that’s increased during the war and against the inevitable war profiteering that happens in every conflict. Another common complaint is that President Bashar really should have been ruthless in stopping the “revolution” early on; but the west’s war loving propaganda outlets of BBC, CNN, Fox and the rest, along with Qatar’s pro-Muslim Brotherhood Al Jazeera and Saudi Arabia’s pro-Wahhabi/Salafi Al Arabiya produced and marketed the fake “brutal crackdown” narrative nonetheless.

The American Century dies in millennia-old Syria

The true, core statement in Brands’ otherwise alternate-reality piece is this: “More significantly, Syria is the nexus for the destabilizing trends that are thrusting the entire global order into crisis.”

In that he is correct. The American Century, the reckless, arrogant, greedy, short-sighted US together with NATO partners particularly Britain and France, its allies/clients of  Israel, the terrorist-sponsoring Persian Gulf States and originally, in its heady ambition to control the world’s petrol-based economy, Erdogan of Turkey as well as the Muslim Brotherhood, finally met its match in the Deep Civilization of Syria and its allies of Iran, Russia and China (each with their own agenda of course). You see, the problem with the US plans for Syria was this: Most Syrians saw through it and rejected it saying, “No thanks” together with most of the army and its Commander in Chief. Their allies, Iran and Hezbollah, Russia and China also proved willing to face the wrath of the US.

Too many Syrians, it turns out, have that Syrian ‘savvy’ that comes from being rooted in a land that has been coveted, traversed, invaded, and occupied by empires since the first imperial wars of the Egyptians and Hittites. For seven years the Syrians have been suffering, dying, and mourning but they’ve stood against the lies and sponsored terrorists of the American Century war mongers. With the imminent victory in east Ghouta, the illegal regime change war based on lies, like Iraq and Libya, is almost over, and the utterly hypocritical, aggressive, greedy age of the American Century is also.

And that’s a very good thing.

Ding-dong, the witch is dead! Which old witch? The wicked witch
Ding-dong, the wicked witch is dead
Wake up, you sleepy head, rub your eyes, get out of bed
Wake up, the wicked witch is dead!
She’s gone where the goblins go below, below, below, yo ho
Let’s open up and sing, and ring the bells out
Ding-dong! the merry-o sing it high, sing it low
Let them know the wicked witch is dead

Reviving ISIS: A US weapon against the Resistance Axis/ By The Cradle

Is it a coincidence that the world’s foremost terror organization is being revived just as the US struggles under a multi-front assault on its hegemony in West Asia? More curiously, both ISIS and Washington’s targets are exactly the same.

Original Link Here: Reviving ISIS: A US weapon against the Resistance Axis (thecradle.co)

Iraqi security sources are warning of an ISIS revival in the country, which coincides all too neatly with the spike in Iraqi resistance operations against US bases in Iraq and Syria, and with widening regional instability caused by Israel’s military assault on Gaza.

More than six years after declaring victory over the terrorist organization, Iraqi intelligence reports now indicate that thousands of ISIS fighters are emerging unscathed, under the protection of US forces in two regions of western Iraq.

The missing piece of the puzzle

According to intelligence reports reviewed by The Cradle, at its height, ISIS consisted of more than 35,000 fighters in Iraq – 25,000 of these were killed, while more than 10,000 simply “disappeared.

As an officer of one Iraqi intelligence agency recounts to The Cradle:

“Hundreds of ISIS fighters fled to Turkey and Syria at the end of 2017. After the appointment of Abdullah Qardash as the leader of ISIS in 2019, following the death of Caliph Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the new Caliph began to restructure the organization, and ordered his followers to return to Iraq. The organization exploited the long border with Syria, the security disturbances, and the diversity of forces on both sides of the border to infiltrate the Iraqi territory again.”

Imprisoned ISIS officials admit that infiltrating that border is not an easy task, because of the strict control imposed by the Iraqi Border Guards and the use of modern technologies, such as thermal cameras.

It therefore became necessary for the terror group to identify intermediaries capable of breaking through or bypassing these fortifications to transport its fighters across borders

An Iraqi security source, insisting on anonymity, tells The Cradle that the US plays a vital role in enabling these border violations:

“[There are] several incidents that confirm the American assistance in securing the crossing route for ISIS members – mainly, by shelling Iraqi units on the border, especially the Popular Mobilization Units (PMUs), to create gaps that allow ISIS fighters to cross the border.”

The Iraqi security source adds that there are confirmed reports of US Chinook helicopters transporting fighters from eastern Syria to the Anbar desert in western Iraq and Jebel Hamreen, in the country’s east.

Munir Adib, a researcher specializing in Islamist movements, extremist organizations, and international terrorism, confirms the possibility of the return of ISIS after the organization’s “dozens of attacks in Syria and Iraq in the past few weeks,” which led to the death of tens of civilians and soldiers.

According to Adib, “the international community’s preoccupation with the Gaza and Russia-Ukraine wars gave ISIS an opportunity to reorganize its ranks, while continuing to receive internal and external logistical support.”

    Manufacturing and harboring terrorism

Houran Valley is the largest of its kind in Iraq, extending 369 kilometers from the Iraqi-Saudi border to the Euphrates River near the city of Haditha in Anbar Governorate. Its topography is marked by soaring cliffs ranging in height between 150 to 200 meters, and includes the hills surrounding the valley and the sub-valleys that extend into its surroundings.

The valley was and still is one of the most dangerous security environments in the state. Terrorist groups use it as a safe haven because of its desert terrain, and distance from congested urban areas. The valley and its environs have witnessed numerous security incidents, most notably in December 2013, when ISIS killed the commander of the Iraqi army’s Seventh Division, his assistant, the director of intelligence in Anbar Governorate, eight officers, and thirteen soldiers.

Iraqi MP Hassan Salem has called for launching a military operation to clear Houran Valley of terrorist fighters. He confirmed to The Cradle that “there are thousands of ISIS members in the valley receiving training in private camps, under American protection,” noting that US forces have “transferred to this area hundreds of ISIS members of different nationalities.”

US foreign policy, of course, is rife with historical evidence of the creation of proxy armed militias in West Asia and Latin America, often utilizing these organizations to overthrow governments in target countries. We know Washington has no aversion to allying with Islamist extremists largely because of its direct involvement with arming and financing the Afghan Mujahideen, from which the Taliban and Al Qaeda emerged.

An early US-ISIS connection exists quite clearly: the terrorist group’s founding and second rank leaders were among the inmates of Camp Bucca prison in southern Iraq, an internment facility run by the US military. The roster of high-value terrorists captured, then set free by the Americans is quite extraordinary: ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, his successor Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurashi, Abu Mohammed al-Adnani, Abu Muslim al-Turkmani, Haji Bakr, Abu Abdulrahman al-Bilawi, Abu Ayman al-Iraqi, among others.

Camp Bucca, known for abuses against its detainees, brought together extremist elements, slow-boiled this combustive formula for six years (2003-2009), then let the now well-networked extremists go free.

The religious officials of ISIS even say they used their time at the prison to obtain vows from prisoners to join the terrorist group after their release.

US intelligence also protected the terrorist organization indirectly, by allowing ISIS convoys to move between the cities that were under its control. Other forms of protection, according to Iraqi security experts, include refusing to implement death sentences issued by Iraqi courts against detained ISIS members, and establishing safe havens for the organization’s members in western and eastern Iraq.

ISIS: US foot soldiers in the regional war

In a speech on 5 January, Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah warned that the US was supporting an ISIS revival in the region.

The Cradle obtained security information monitoring the new activity of extremists in Lebanon, communications between these elements and their counterparts in Iraq and Syria, and suspicious money transfer activities among them.

Lebanese Army Intelligence also recently arrested a group of Lebanese and Syrians who were preparing to carry out security operations.

Importantly, this surge in terror activities comes at a time when the Lebanese resistance is engaged in a security and military battle with Israel, which may expand at any moment into open war. It is also notable that renewed ISIS activity is concentrated in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Iran; that is, in the countries that support the Palestinian resistance politically, militarily, and logistically.

On 4 January, ISIS officially claimed responsibility for two bombings in the Iranian city of Kerman that targeted memorial processions on the anniversary of the assassination of Quds Force Commander Qassem Soleimani by US forces. The dual explosions killed around 90 people and injured dozens, in an unprecedented attack targeting the biggest US-Israeli adversary in West Asia – just one day after Tel Aviv killed top Hamas leader Saleh al-Arouri in Beirut.

Before that, on 5 October 2023, ISIS drone-attacked an officers graduation ceremony at the Military College in the Syrian city of Homs, killing about 100 peopleThese attacks, and others in Iraq, Syria, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Africa, indicate that fresh blood, money, and weapons are being pumped into the ISIS organization’s arteries again.

A high-ranking PMU officer, who asked to remain unnamed, tells The Cradle that US forces are preventing Iraqi forces from approaching Houran Valley by attacking any security forces approaching the area. “This happened when American aircraft targeted units of the PMU that were attacking ISIS in the region,” he reveals, citing intelligence reports confirming the presence of dozens of ISIS members and other extremist organizations in the valley, where they receive training and equipment from US forces.

Security sources in the Anbar Operations Command confirm this information:

“Noticeable activity by the organization had been recorded a few weeks ago in the west of the country. Near the Rutba desert, ISIS fighters were spotted digging underground hideouts. Information indicates that the organization is in the process of carrying out terrorist operations in many locations,” they tell The Cradle.

Concurrently, ISIS is expanding its operations in the east of Iraq, within the geographical triangle that includes eastern Salah al-Din Governorate, north-eastern Diyala, and southern Kirkuk, particularly in the geographically challenging Makhoul, Hamrin, Ghurra, Wadi al-Shay, and Zaghitoun areas.

It should be noted that US forces are deployed in Iraq under the umbrella of the International Coalition to Combat ISIS. Last week, four years after the Iraqi parliament first voted to expel foreign forces, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani weighed in on the “destabilizing” impact of US troops and demanded a “quick and orderly” exit of those combat units.

Washington not only countered by saying it has “no plans” to withdraw from Iraq, but announced on 14 January that it would be sending an additional 1,500 troops to Iraq and Syria illegally, and without the consent of either nation.

One irony here is that ISIS appears to regain momentum each and every time Baghdad raises the issue of US military withdrawal from Iraq.

It can also no longer be seen as a coincidence that the terror group is now re-assembling its forces to target Washington and Tel Aviv’s most capable regional foes – the Axis of Resistance – just when the US and Israel are struggling to handle a region-wide, multi-front assault from the Axis.

The extraordinary synergies between the Americans and the world’s foremost terror group can no longer be ignored: their targets are one and the same, and ISIS is only now entering the fray, just as Washington begins to lose its hold on West Asia.
