In 2014, I was in Lebanon during the Syrian presidential elections. I went to the Syrian embassy which was crowded with Syrians who wanted to vote. So crowded it stayed open a 2nd unscheduled day, both days staying open 5 hours beyond the 7 pm intended closing time.
Western media, of course, called the elections a sham, Syrians were “forced” to vote. This was nonsense, but the flooding of the Syrian embassy in Lebanon was proof that it was nonsense. No one was “forcing” them to vote. Meanwhile, Syrian embassies around the world had been closed in previous years, meaning Syrians who wanted to vote couldn’t, or had to fly to Damascus to do so.
In 2021, I was in Damascus for the presidential elections, and also went to nearby Douma where Syrians were celebrating the elections.
I went to Umayyad Square (the central square in Damascus) before the results were announced. The mood was festive, the square jammed with Syrians celebrating. The celebrations got louder and lasted for hours, probably longer, after the results were announced.
Now, al-Qaeda/ISIS Joolani is “holding elections” in Syria for the People’s Assembly.
“Under Assad there were presidential elections and multi party assembly elections. Under the NATO backed unelected terrorist “President” Jolani, all assembly members will be directly or indirectly appointed.”
Western media will celebrate this mass murderer & the bloody non-democracy he reigns over, whitewashing the slaughters of Syrian civilians which began under his rule immediately after he took power.
