On 19 October 2014, Lebanese-American journalist Serena Shim, who bravely reported from Turkish-occupied Syria for PressTV, was killed under mysterious circumstances in Turkey.
At the time of her death, she had been reporting on occupied Ayn al-Arab (Kobani), from the Turkish side. In her own words, she was one of the first, if not the first, on the ground to report on ISIS terrorists being brought into Syria through the Turkish border, by Turkey, to perpetuate its occupation of Syria. She was also one of the first journalist to expose US and Western involvement in the destabilisation of Syria.
